About This Class
Get hands-on in this sushi-making class and learn to craft your own delicious rolls from scratch. You’ll make three different types of sushi, while your chef demonstrates a quick and flavourful tuna tataki dish for you to enjoy. Along the way, you’ll explore the history of sushi and the origins of the rolls you’ll be creating. By the end of the class, you’ll have mastered key sushi-making skills and be ready to impress friends and family with your new techniques. Dietary Info: This class can be adapted for gluten-free diets only. Not suitable for vegetarian or vegan diets. What You Will Be Making: • California prawn and avocado roll • Salmon and chive maki with yuzu pepper mayo • Temaki hand roll • Lightly seared tuna (tuna tataki) with ponzu dressing (chef demo) Skills: • How to cook and season sushi rice • How to roll three different types of sushi • What fish to use and how to prepare it • How to slice sushi rolls for perfect presentation What You Will Take Home: Everything you prepare will either be eaten during the class or taken home. We are actively trying to cut back on single-use containers, so please bring your own for any sushi you don’t finish in class. What You’ll Get for Lunch: After all of your hard work, you will sit, relax, and enjoy everything you have made during your class.
