About This Class

In this immersive, full-day class, you will explore the art and science behind crafting four unique and delectable types of bread, each with its own cultural significance and flavor profile. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or just starting out, our expert chefs will take you through every stage of the bread-making process. You’ll gain not only hands-on experience but also a deeper understanding of the ingredients, techniques, and skills required to achieve bakery-quality results at home. What you'll be making: 1. Naan Bread Originating from India, Naan is a soft and pillowy flatbread typically baked in a tandoor oven. You'll learn to make the dough using a blend of flour, yogurt, and yeast, and then shape and cook it to achieve the perfect balance of chewy and crispy texture. 2. Slow Proof Focaccia Focaccia is a popular Italian bread known for its airy texture and rich olive oil flavor. In this segment, we will focus on the slow proofing process, which allows the dough to develop complex flavors and a tender crumb. You'll learn to infuse your Focaccia with herbs and other savory ingredients, and bake it to golden perfection. 3. Soda Bread Hailing from Ireland, Soda Bread is a quick bread made without yeast, relying on baking powder for leavening. This bread has a dense yet tender crumb and is one of the quicker breads you can make. We'll guide you through mixing and shaping the dough, and teach you tips for achieving the traditional cross on top. Perfect for serving with butter and jam or hearty stews. 4. Baguette The iconic French Baguette is known for its crispy crust and soft, airy interior. You'll learn the traditional techniques for kneading, shaping, and scoring the dough to create authentic Baguettes. We will also cover tips for using a steam oven or creating a steam environment in your home oven to achieve the signature crust. - UPCOMING CLASS DATES 2025 - Saturday 4th January 2025 Thursday 6th February 2025 Saturday 1st March 2025 Saturday 26th April 2025
