Role: Chef Tutor
Hours: Full Time (Wednesday to Sunday) with some evening shifts.
Salary: £28k to £33k per year (subject to experience)

We’re looking for a dedicated Chef Tutor to join our team full-time. This role is perfect for a passionate individual who thrives in a diverse and dynamic environment and is eager to share their love for food and cooking with others.

Role Responsibilities:
As Chef Tutor, you will:

Lead and deliver a wide range of cookery classes with enthusiasm and professionalism, following the Devon Cookery School’s signature teaching style.

Design and develop new cooking classes and menus, keeping them fresh, innovative, and appealing to our varied customer base.

Manage setup, clean down, and general cleanliness of the kitchen to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all classes.

Oversee the ordering and management of ingredients and other supplies, ensuring quality and cost-efficiency.

Host and participate in events such as food shows, chef demos, and mobile cooking events across the UK, with advanced notice.

Contribute to content creation, including filming and promotional activities, to showcase the school’s offerings.

Work collaboratively with the team to deliver exceptional customer experiences during both public and corporate events.

Continuously develop your own skills in food education and share your specialised knowledge with learners.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Qualifications: A Level 2/3 Catering Certificate and Level 2/3 Food Hygiene Certificates are highly desirable.

Extensive cooking skill and experience, with a strong culinary background and in-depth knowledge of global cuisines and cooking techniques.

A genuine passion for teaching, with a desire to pass on culinary skills to learners of all levels.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a friendly and approachable teaching style.

A proactive and adaptable attitude to working in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.

Experience in food education, chef demos, or working as a chef tutor (preferred but not essential).

Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage stock, class preparation, and clean down efficiently.

Creativity and confidence in content creation, including filming and promotional work.

A full driving licence and willingness to travel for mobile events as needed.
